They say that all roads lead to Rome, but in competitive programming, aka informatics, you find the fastest, most efficient way to the Eternal City (a fine example of the shortest path problem, too). Being one of the diverse disciplines in computer science, it piques the interest of many with its focus on solving logical and mathematical problems within the given time and memory limit. In this talk, we'll be hearing from Joan Francisco about certain aspects that make competitive programming different from its sister fields. As a headstart for aspiring sport programmers, she will be giving out insights on how to initiate one’s expedition in informatics, together with the two sides of its coin and everything else in between—its ridges and edges.
Student Tech Talks is a series by Developh seeking to spotlight the journeys and work of students in creative and tech-adjacent fields. After all, students are transforming the world from their dorm rooms and bedrooms––let's talk about it.developh.org/eventsLaunch Event (Zoom)
